Cat bite marks on a chewcard.
Cats have a pair of long pointed canine teeth on the upper and lower jaw, which leave pairs of circular puncture marks.
The marks can be variable but for best accuracy measure the shallow 'dent' bite marks that are left on the bottom side of the chewcard. Where a pair of puncture holes can be identified, the distance between them in cats is in the range of 14.5 - 22 mm. This measurement can distinguish them from similarly paired circular puncture marks left by weasels, stoats and ferrets.
