Rusa (Javan) deer

These droppings were in area of rewarewa and kanuka forest in the Ikawhenua Range, Te Urewera. Some hunters have suggested that rusa droppings are often lighter in colour than those of red deer in the parts of Te Urewera where both deer species are present.
