Sika deer

Sika deer tracks 1 500x500

Sika deer footprint.

It is difficult to differentiate sika deer footprints from those other deer, but it is one of the smaller deer species in New Zealand. Like other deer, each hoof is divided into two toes (called cleaves), which are pointed. The prints for adult females will be about 39mm long by 30mm wide and those of males will be larger.
