Dama wallaby

Dama wallaby tracks 2sq

Dama wallaby tracks at slow speed.

The front feet and tail show in tracks only when dama wallabies move slowly – usually when feeding – and are rarely seen. At slow speed they take their weight on their hand-like forepaws and tail, and swing their hind feet forward. The tail marks will be central in the track and the hind feet spaced more widely apart than when the animal is hopping. Because they use all four feet and their tail to propel themselves forward this is known as a ‘pentapedal’ gait.
