Australian magpie
Adult Australian magpie, head and shoulders.
Note the pale silvery colour and solid wedge-shape of the beak, the dull red eye colour and the slight gloss of the feathers. This bird was photographed along the Pohangina Valley E. Road in eastern Manawatu.
